A collaboration with nature
The unbridled magical beauty of nature is pertinent to me an artist…my work is a reflection of the fragility and intense purity of nature in all of its forms. From drawings to paintings to ceramics and photo’s my work is fragile and unequivocally optimistic. In addition to being a photographer and graphic artist, i expressed my style through interior design. Upon the realization that nature is my palette, a calling which resounds to this day, i needed to express it through my art. My main inspiration comes from being in nature, the beach, gardens, woodlands and open fields which contain a vast and diverse range of wildflower species – which provides me with an abundance of inspiration. I channel nature through my work, in which the unwavering character and structures of nature are prominently featured. In that regard, i recognize the importance of nature’s symbiosis with our lives. In every nature and culture i comes across, i unravel physical processes, gain inspiration for my oeuvre, and I am fueled by the overwhelming strength and structures of nature. I manifest the phenomena, structures, cycles and hidden properties of nature using my art, to learn from the underlying mechanisms of the earth and to restore our connection to it. With both depth and simplicity, my artworks illuminate parallels between nature, natural structures and the man-made. Nature embraces and merges with man-made structures. While creating my art, i always raise myself the question about what life is and am always exploring for a positive scenario for the future. In all my work I bring people, space and nature on the same frequency and unite the audience with experiences that inspire a (re)connection with nature and our planet. |
